In Memoriam: Marc S. Williams, CFA

It is with deep sadness that Highland announces the passing of our cherished friend and colleague, Marc S. Williams, CFA.

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, Marc passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 4-year battle with ALS. A memorial service and interment was held at St. Joseph Church and Cemetery in Avon, Ohio on October 15, 2024.

Marc, Bill Kinde and Rich Veres founded Highland in 1993. Marc’s optimism and persistence were integral in those early days to getting Highland firmly established. Marc was willing to do whatever was needed to engage clients and then he focused on serving them. His passion for serving clients was reflected in the relationships built with them – many became some of his closest friends. He started his career in corporate banking and credit, and at Highland, earned the Chartered Financial Analyst^® designation.

Marc attended Kenyon College in Ohio and was a proud member of the Lords football team and the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He also earned membership in the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Marc was an avid golfer and a member of Avon Oaks Country Club.

Marc will be dearly missed by all who knew him – family, friends, and colleagues.
